About Us

Where the learning never stops! Our center opened in 1998 offering preschool, Pre-K, and child care for children ages 3, 4, and 5 with a total enrollment of 5 children. Within 4 years, our center began serving not only preschoolers, but also infants, toddlers, and school-age children. We are licensed to serve up to 225 children ages 6 weeks through 4th grade. From the very beginning, it was a center goal to provide a quality preschool and Pre-K program for all children. As the center expanded to serve other age groups, the educational program expanded as well to meet the needs of the infants, toddlers, and school-age children.

We Receive Yearly Inspections From:

  • Ohio Department of Job and Family Services
  • Step Up To Quality Division of ODJFS

  • Wayne County Health Department
  • Wooster Fire Department

Linda Gilbert - Owner & Administrator

I am a 1976 graduate of Buchanan High School in Michigan, where I grew up. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Wooster in 1980, majoring in Sociology/Social Work. I was born in Seneca Falls, New York, and lived in Kentucky prior to moving to Michigan. Wooster has been my home for over 35 years. My husband Frank and I have three grown children who have blessed us with eight grandchildren. We love spending time with our family, spending time at our cabin at Cranberry Lake in the Adirondacks of New York, traveling, and visiting flea markets and antique stores. Prior to opening Care 4 Kids in 1998, I worked with older adults for 17 years as the manager of the Wooster Community Center and then as manager of College Hills Retirement Village.

Since opening the center in 1998, I have enjoyed working with the children, families, and staff of Care 4 Kids. I love watching the children learn and grow. It warms my heart to have them greet and hug me as I go through the center. I enjoy their innocence, curiosity and that they truly enjoy and appreciate the simple pleasures of life! I am honored that so many families have trusted us to care for and educate their children over the years. I have an open door policy and welcome any concerns or suggestions you may have that will help us maintain and improve upon the high quality program we strive to provide for our children and families.

I grew up in rural Holmes County, and after graduating from West Holmes in 1999, I attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin, OH where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education in 2003. I live near Burbank with my husband, Joel, and our three beautiful daughters, Avery, Lucy and Fiona, and our cat, Fleece. I love spending time with my family and friends! I also enjoy watching TV/movies, bowling, spending time outdoors, traveling and listening to music.

I knew I was going to be a teacher when I entered kindergarten. My kindergarten teacher sparked an interest in me to learn about the field of education, and I have worked with children in many settings for most of my adult life. I have had amazing experiences with children of all ages and I am happy that my current position allows me to work closely with Care 4 Kids families and staff. I believe caring for children is an investment in our community and in our future. It is very important to me to serve as a resource for all the children, staff and families of Care 4 Kids! I want all the children we serve to get the best start in life. Please feel free to approach me at any time if you have questions, concerns, or suggestions about your child's care.

I am a 2002 graduate of Wooster High School and I have earned my Associate's and Bachelor's degree in Family & Childhood Development from the University of Akron. I grew up in Wooster and now live in Marshallville with my husband, Justin; our daughters, Karson and Kynlee, and our son, Keagan. In my spare time I like to watch movies and spend time with my family. I have a big family and am very close with all 4 of my siblings so family has always been a very important aspect in my life. I want the families to know that I also consider them as well as the staff at Care 4 Kids an extension to my own family!

I like working with children because they are so curious and eager to learn. They amaze me sometimes with how fast they can pick up on things! The best thing about my job is the connections I have made not only with the children, but their families as well.
